World Post Day 2016 in Portugal
World Post Day is celebrated each year on October 9th, the anniversary of the establishment of the UPU (Universal Postal Union) in 1874 in the Swiss Capital, Bern.
Since then, countries across the world participate annually in the celebrations.
As a founding member of UPU, Portugal joins to the commemorations of this day, with a ceremony taking place at the Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações, on October 10th organised by the Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações. Those attending the event include Fátima Barros, Chairman of the Board of Directors (BD) of ANACOM and the FPC General Council, Francisco de Lacerda, Chairman of the BD and CEO of CTT – Correios de Portugal, and Luís M. Andrade, Chairman of the BD of FPC.
This session includes, as usually, a set of activities referring to the theme, organised by the Museu das Comunicações (Educational Service), during the week of October 10th to 14th.
